The Thermal Energy Centers owned by Clearway Energy develop, own and operate a large number of district energy and combined heat and power (CHP) facilities across North America. Each facility has a unique configuration and set of services offered – from converting heat into energy, providing ready-to-use hot or chilled water bringing heating and air conditioning to a network of buildings, providing steam for industrial processes, or other reliable, efficient solutions. Several systems serve one or two large users, while others serve hundreds of customers of all types and sizes within the core of major U.S. cities and university campuses.
All told, our Energy Centers provide district heating and/or cooling to more than 100 million square feet of building space nationwide, including hospitals, hotels, commercial office buildings, sports arenas, government buildings and residential high-rises.
